Microsoft is making significant changes to how Microsoft 365 subscriptions are structured, which directly affects how new customers will access Microsoft Teams.
The global update, due in April 2024, will not only change the Teams configuration, but also the pricing structure, which may lead to changes in budget strategies. This affects the audience of all direct and indirect CSP providers and resellers.
The dramatic changes are in the way Microsoft Corporation is making its Microsoft 365 (M365) packages, including Microsoft Teams.
Exclusion of Teams. New M365 customers will now find that Teams is missing from the standard M365 package. Instead, Teams will require an additional subscription.
M365 subscribers. If you’re already using M365, you can renew your current licenses without the need to sign up for a separate Teams subscription.
Pricing changes: Updated M365 packages have a slightly reduced price, approximately $1.50 per user per month. However, choosing a separate Teams subscription will add about $5.25 per user per month.
